Akron-Canton ASCE's Career Building Block Series continues with this workshop providing University of Akron Civil Engineering students "hands-on" experience with professional interaction and verbal/non-verbal communication in a professional setting with local engineers from various disciplines.

In the Speed Chatting session, students will pait with professionals to become comfortable with introductions and maintaining a conversation, while learning about the many careet paths for Civil Engineers. Every 5 minutes, students will rotate to speak with a different professional.

In the Mixer Event session, students and professionals will engage in a mock social hour to build comfort interacting in a professional social setting. Students will practice making small talk and entering solo into a grop conversation.

Audience: Civil Engineering students seeking to develop or improve their interaction and communication skills in a professional setting to carry into their career.

Participation in prior workshops is not required and is not necessary.
