Event Description
Reminder - please join the ASCE Cincinnati Section for the May 18, 2017 meeting. The meeting will include a Tour, Dinner, Presentation for the Werk & Westbourne Enhanced High-Rate Treatment (EHRT) facility for the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC).
 
If you are interested in attending, please register early.  Space is limited and registration is approximately one-half full as of May 4.  
 
The meeting will include a tour of the facility, which is under construction, followed by dinner and a presentation about the project at the nearby Larosa's Restaurant. The presentation will be given by Jared Hutchins, P.E. Engineering Manager for Black and Veatch, the lead designer for the project.
 
Also, parking space is limited at the site; attendees are encouraged to meet and park at the Larosa's Restaurant and carpool to the project site.
 
Project Description
The Werk & Westbourne EHRT facility is being constructed to comply with the requirements mandated by the Federal Court Consent Decree to reduce overflows from the Upper Muddy Creek Sub-Basin and Combined Sewer Overflow No. 522. The facility will provide screening, sedimentation, and disinfection of flows discharging from the CSO in compliance with the Final Wet Weather Improvements Program.
Program Details
The dinner and presentation will take place at 1) Project site at Werk Road and Westbourne Drive,  and 2) Larosa's Restaurant at 2411 Boudinot Avenue.

PDHs for this event: 2.0 hours. Please indicate with RSVP if you would like a PDH certificate. PDH certificates will be emailed to attendees the following week.
 
Note: In the event of inclement weather, the tour will be cancelled and the dinner and presentation will begin approximately one-hour earlier than scheduled at the Larosa's restaurant. 
 
Program Schedule
  • 4:00 PM - Meet at Larosa's Restaurant to car pool to site
  • 4:15 PM - Meet near Construction Trailers at Werk & Westbourne site
  • 4:30 PM - Site Tour begins at Werk & Westbourne
  • 5:30 PM - Check-in begins at Larosa's Restaurant
  • 6:00 PM - Dinner begins at Larosa's (Variety: Salad, Pasta, Pizza, Sandwiches, Wings, Breadsticks, Cookies, etc.)
  • 6:30 PM - Presentation begins at Larosa's

Admission and dinner are included in the event fee. 
  • $10 for ASCE Student Members
  • $25 for ASCE Members
  • $35 for Non-members
Note:  If paying by credit card, an additional $1 charge will be assessed to cover the PayPal fee.
 
Registration will be cut off when space is full, or 5 PM on Friday, May 12th.  
 
Cash, check, and credit card payment options are accepted at the meetings.
