The Cleveland Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is comprised of Civil Engineers working and/or residing within the Northeast area of the State of Ohio. The Section was established to provide a forum where Civil Engineers could meet to expand their technical knowledge, discuss and exchange ideas concerning professional and technical matters, and participate in social functions.
Our Cleveland Section is celebrating its 100th year of service to the Cleveland area civil engineering community. Our Charter was approved by ASCE’s Board of Direction on January 6th, 1915. A little over a year ago, many of the Sections’ Past Presidents and current Board Members convened a Centennial Committee to plan and organize events for our anniversary. The Committee developed a list of Ten Civil Engineering Projects that Helped Shape our Region. We created three portable banners that highlight these projects; these will be displayed around town at various public locations, as well as during our meetings. In addition, each of our monthly meetings will honor one of the projects as we highlight how we came to be where we are today. During our centennial year our section will partly subsidize the registration fee at our monthly meetings, with the intent of allowing every single one of our members to participate in the celebration.
The commemoration of our 100 years could not be made possible without the support of our members and corporate sponsors. We would like to recognize all those who are helping make this year a success.
