Student Hosted April Meeting - Cross USA Lecture Tour

Tuesday, April 9, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Join us at the Thwing Center on April 9th as we hear from Dr. Paul Mayne.  The Cleveand State and Case Western recipients of our annual scholarships will be awarded at this meeting.

This event is co-hosted by the Case Western Reserve University student chapter of ASCE.

Topic: Overview on Geocharacterization by In-Situ Tests

Abstract: Based on research for the new manual on Geotechnical Site Characterization written for AASHTO (2018) and prior manuals for the National Highway Institute (2002) and Federal Highway Administration (2002).  Includes a brief overview on electromagnetic geophysics (GPR, EM, Resistivity) and mechanical wave geophysics: SRF, CHT, DHT, SASW, MASW) and the basic in-situ tests, including SPT, CPT, DMT, PMT, VST, SCPTu, SDMT)
