| National Public Relations Overview: | Through programs such as the Report Card for America's Infrastructure and national sponsorship of PBS series, such as Building BigTM and Great Projects: The Building of America, ASCE enhances the image of civil engineers and builds public support for better investment in America's infrastructure. More recently, ASCE has responded to the increased awareness of the importance of infrastructure security by placing news stories highlighting the role of civil engineers and civil engineering in securing our vital public works. ASCE has placed stories in news outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Washington Post, Business Week, U.S. News & World Report, Los Angeles Times, CNN, The Discovery Channel, The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, National Public Radio, and NBC Radio that explain the important role that civil engineers play as stewards of the nation's infrastructure.
