MUNICIPALITY GUIDE

Does your jurisdiction have a handle on the status of its infrastructure?

The 2003 Colorado Infrastructure Report Card is intended, in part, to be a model for follow-up evaluations statewide and on the county and municipal level. It is ASCE's hope that cities and counties will conduct a similar evaluation in their jurisdictions.

What grade can you represent to your citizens, rate payers, and constituency?

The 2003 Colorado Infrastructure Report Card assessed facilities statewide. Depending on the particular sector of infrastructure, county and municipal facilities may or may not have been included in the evaluation.

One of the recurring findings among all sectors of infrastructure was a less-than-expected awareness of conditions and future needs. Organized and methodical record-keeping was not the norm. This Report Card attempts to close that gap so that we know what we are dealing with and can respond appropriately.
