Distinguished Speaker Series: Public Private Partnerships - The Austin Landing Case Study
The University of Dayton Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Mechanics announces a new Distinguished Speaker Series aimed at exploring the connection between civil engineering and the impact the projects we engineers work on have on society. The series will include three unrelated presentations during each of the Fall and Winter semesters. Enrolled sophomore, junior, and senior civil engineering students are required to attend. The Department invites local professionals to attend the presentations and interact with students at the conclusion of the presentations. With limited seating, advance registration is requested. Fall events of the Distinguished Speaker Series will begin at 2 p.m. on select Thursdays and will take place at the H. Troy and Eileen Sears Recital Hall in the Jesse Philips Humanities Center at the University of Dayton.

This panel discussion will share with attendees the “life-cycle” of a public private partnership including concept, funding, zoning and construction. The benefits to the community and the problems it presented will be discussed as well as what might be done differently in the future. Speakers include Randy Gunlock (RG Properties), David Marshall (Kleingers Group) Chris Snyder (Miami Township), and Steve Stanley (Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District).
