Annual Toothpick Bridge Competition
Students from area high schools compete to load-test toothpick bridges. This is a long-standing event for the Duluth Section and a wonderful opportunity for outreach to the area youth to introduce the topic of civil engineering. Volunteers are needed on the day of the competition (approximately 9a-1p). We are in need of folks to help with registration, helping set up the load tests and direct students, tracking and recording of scores, etc.
Contact Chris Morris ([email protected]) for more information or to sign up to volunteer. The event itinerary is detailed below.
