Report from IPFW

The IPFW Student Club continues to struggle to exist. The big accomplishments of recent note are that nine students registered with ASCE at the national level and one student attended the Section Annual Meeting. None of these students offered to serve the club as an officer and consequently there were no activities during the spring semester and no plans for future meetings.

IPFW has plans to offer a bachelor degree in civil engineering beginning in August 2006, pending approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. ASCE is the lead society for ABET accreditation criteria for three current degree programs at IPFW, associate of science in civil engineering technology, associate of science in architectural engineering technology, and bachelor of science in construction engineering technology.
