Future City 2006 Judges Needed

Date: Saturday, January 28th

Our profession is enhanced by introducing students to engineering concepts through reaching out to our community. The Future Cities competition is an excellent example of a way to introduce students to engineering and planning concepts. It is a national competition for 7th and 8th graders where they will write a paper on a topic, use SimCity software to create a city of the future, build a model of their city and finally at a regional competition present their efforts to a panel of judges. More details about Future Cities are at: www.futurecity.org/

C.W. Harper (harper@ksdot.org) with KDOT is the Kansas Coordinator and he needs lots of judges for the regional competition presentations. Please contact C.W. directly through e-mail if you are interested in volunteering for this fun activity.
