Annual Dinner Meeting
Please join us for our annual dinner to celebrate our accomplishments for this past year, swear in next year's officers, network with colleagues, and learn about the Casino Harbour project.
The Mohawk Harbor Project (1 PDH Pending)
Steven Boisvert, PE, and Greg Johnson, PE, from Bergmann Associates, and Fred Dente, PE, from Dente Engineering will discuss the challenges of the de-sign and permitting process of Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady, NY.
When complete, Mohawk Harbor will consist of over 1 million square feet including apartments, condominiums, townhouses, hotels, retail/dining, office space, and the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. Bergmann Associates and Dente Engineering were retained to perform the design of the bulkhead wall for the harbor adjacent to the development. Due to soft native soils and con-strained site, the harbor wall used a king pile system with specially shaped H piles and interlocking steel sheets. Design was further complicated by the close proximity of buildings and water level fluctuations on the river and in the harbor. Construction of the harbor occurred during the fall and winter of 2015-2016. The harbor is now complete allowing boat traffic on the Erie Ca-nal to visit the development.
