Mid-Hudson Branch August PDH Seminar

"Why and How You Should Include Geothermal Technology in Your Engineering Playbook"

This presentation will outline the various reasons why this 40 year old technology is now being recognized as one of the major weapons that will support Governor Cuomo's mandates to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GGE) 26% by 2025 and 80% by 2050.

Mr. DiEnna will also address various projects, the design methods (vertical bore, water systems etc) that were used and the benefits that the facilities experienced by using this technology.

Mr. DiEnna will also detail the reasons why this technology is considered a renewable asset and an energy efficiency technology and how it benefits the client monetarily and given the current climate, the health benefits that this technology provides.

Mr. DiEnna will touch on the various studies done by National Labs such as one done by Oak Ridge National Labs (ORNL) that points to how an aggressive deployment of GHPs could account for an energy savings of 3.4 to 3.9 quads annually

Mr. DiEnna will also address where the technology works best, which market demographic to pursue and where to obtain the necessary training & certification that would enable an engineer to design the entire system including the ground loop heat exchanger (GLHE).

Mr. DiEnna will also touch on the utility involvement that is now taking place in NY where they see this technology as a non-wires/non-pipeline alternative.
