The Mohawk-Hudson Section held it's 70th Annual Dinner on May 15th

at The Century House in Latham.  Approximately 55 people attended the event.

 

The Mohawk-Hudson Section recognized each Student Chapters Award Winners:

Hudson Valley Community College:         Samuel Wright

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute:                          Jacob Oldenburger

U.S. Military Academy:                              Jason Bahmer

Amanda George, a senior at Hudson Falls High School was awarded the Mohawk-Hudson Section's 2008 Student Scholarship.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, math club and drama club.  She plans to pursue a civil engineering degree with a concentration in structural engineering at RPI.

 

The Section also honored Richard Bovee, PE, M.ASCE with the Engineer of the Year Award.  He is the chief engineer at Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP.  He has over 36 years of consulting engineering experience.  Jen Everleth, PE, M. ASCE was honored with the Young Engineer of the Year Award. She is a geotechnical engineer with Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP.

The Section also had the honor of having (2) members achieve Fellowship this year.  Fellows are legally registered professional engineers or land surveyors who have made significant technical or professional contributions and have demonstrated notable achievement in responsible charge of engineering activity for at least 10 years following the election to the ASCE grade of member.  Fellows occupy the Society's second highest membership grade, exceeded only by distinguished members.
