Two Important Upcoming New Mexico ASCE Events!

March 3, 2015

Dear Members of the New Mexico Section of ASCE,

We will skip the ASCE New Mexico Section Spring Conference this year due to the American Society of Civil Engineers' 44th Annual Rock Mountain Regional Conference, which ASCE will hold in Albuquerque on April 9-11. Instead of the usual conference, we encourage ASCE members to sign up to volunteer as judges and helpers at http://www.unm.edu/~asce/rockymountain.htm. Also, please participate as spectators at the concrete canoe races at Cochiti Lake and the steel bridge building competition at UNM. Bring your kids to these exciting competitions!

The New Mexico Section of ASCE is proud to announce that this year’s Fall Conference will be a joint conference with the New Mexico Chapter of the American Planning Association. This conference will be an exciting opportunity to build alliances with a group of professionals that share some of the same goals as ASCE members. We will hold the conference in Las Cruces on Sept. 23-25. Put this date on your calendar! See the flyer at ( flyer link) for an opportunity to present at the fall conference and ensure that the Civil Engineering perspective is well-represented. The conference website is at http://www.apa-nm.org/#!2015-state-conference-info/c1czu. You can propose a presentation by contacting me at gerstle@unm.edu. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you all there!

Sincerely,
Walter Gerstle, President, New Mexico Section of ASCE
