CREATEs Presents Pavement Design Workshop (3 PDHs)

Event From Date
Monday, April 30, 2018 - 07:30 AM

The Center for Research and Education in Advanced Transportation Engineering Systems (CREATEs) at Rowan University will offer a Pavement Design Workshop for engineers.

This course aims to refresh and update municipal county engineers and technicians on the current pavement design methodologies including the AASHTO 1993 Empirical Design and the more recent design approach outlined in the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Philosophy of the current empirical design guide.
  • How to conduct sensitivity analysis of stiffness and thickness on stress/strain response and understand its implications on design.
  • Conduct mechanistic-empirical (Asphalt Institute/MEPDG) and empirical (AASHTO) flexible and rigid pavement design.
