Event From Date
Tuesday, April 16, 2019 - 05:30 PM

The technical session will include a guided tour of the Samuel S. Baxter Water Treatment plant. The Baxter Plant is one of three water treatment plants operated by the Philadelphia Water Department and supplies 60% of the potable water in Philadelphia. The source of water for the Baxter Plant is from the tidal section of the Delaware River. The operation of the plant is enhanced by a computer model of the river hydraulics. Attendees will receive 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH). Food will be served after the tour. The tour will be limited to 25 attendees. Carpooling is strongly encouraged, due to limited parking. Attendees will be required to sign a General Release, Waiver, and Indemnification form to enter the facility and must present a photo ID.
