Widener College Night: PennDOT I-95 GIR Improvements (1 PDH)
Details: This month’s meeting will include two segments:
1) Presentation by Widener senior project group.
2) Presentation of PennDOT’s long-term multi-phase initiative to rebuild and improve Interstate 95 through Philadelphia, specifically in the Girard Avenue interchange area north of the City (section “GIR”). Approximately 2 miles of elevated structure are currently being replaced and widened in this section, along with significant improvements to the ramps and access to Delaware Avenue. The focus will be on structural aspects and those issues a young engineer can expect to encounter when assigned to such a complex project.
