The 3rd Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Contest - 1998
Monique Nykamp coordinated the 1998 Popsicle Bridge Contest with the help of dozens of volunteers and with donations of both time and money from local engineering firms. Check out the Seattle Section Newsletter Article from January 1998.
| The 1998 contest was held in the Center House at the
Seattle Center on February 21st. The date of the contest
usually coincides with National Engineers Week.
Monique begins the contest by presenting both the judges and the bridges to the participants and the spectators.

the 37 popsicle stick bridges entered. Many schools entered more than one bridge. |

Olympic High School can boost that their bridge could survive up to 1278 lbs. Be sure to see the scores for the other schools' bridges. |
