Southern Illinois University—Carbondale, IL

The Department of Civil Engineering offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering with a Specialization in Environmental Engineering (BSCE with an EE specialization). The Department also offers a Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Civil Engineering and participates in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering Science. There are approximately 250 students enrolled in the civil engineering program at SIUC (210 undergraduate and 40 graduate students). The faculty consists of 14 professors with diverse interests.

Southern Illinois UniversityEdwardsville, IL

The Department of Civil Engineering offers a curriculum that provides students with a rigorous background in mathematics, physical science, and civil engineering.  They will be prepared to hold an entry-level position in industry or government, or to pursue graduate study.  Along with our the Engineering Building, the school offers access  state-of-the art facilities for conducting basic soil mechanics procedures such as soil classification, permeability, compaction, direct shear, and triaxial tests.
