DUTIES OF THE PRESIDENT-ELECT

The President-Elect serves as President in the absence of the President. He/she serves as Membership Committee chair and Board contact member.

He/she serves as Board contact for Directory committee, if one is appointed, and may be assigned responsibility as Board contact for other committees.

The President-Elect is a member of the PNC of ASCE which meets twice a year. He/she normally attends the ASCE Management Conference held in the spring of each year. He/she may also be a delegate to the Zone IV Nominating Committee.

Prepares committee assignment list for the coming year and forwards it to the Newsletter Editor by October 1.

As Membership Secretary, he/she is responsible for contacting new National members assigned to the local Section, sending out publications and information on the local Section, and assures that membership packets (furnished by National) are provided to prospective new members. Each new assigned Member shall be sent a welcome letter.

A list of new assigned members should be obtained from the Secretary periodically.

Assists the President in the conduct of the duties of his/her office.
