Welcome to the Virginia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers!

The Virginia Section was founded in 1922, some seventy years after the parent organization, in 1852, and at one time included the entire state. Today the boundaries include all of the Commonwealth of Virginia except the City of Alexandria and the Counties of Fairfax and Arlington, which have been assigned to the National Capital Section.

The state is divided geographically into seven Branches - Blue Ridge, Bull Run, Lynchburg, Norfolk, Peninsula, Richmond and Roanoke.

Student Chapters within the Virginia Section are Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, Virginia Military Institute and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
