Board Meets (Virtually) Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Jack A. Raudenbush, P.E., M.ASCE, your Region 2 Director, is a member of the Central Pennsylvania Section. Jack represented you at the March 14-15 Board meeting in Washington, D.C.

Our March Board of Direction meeting was not one any of us will soon forget. Due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus, some of us attended from afar through virtual meeting technology. The good news is that we were able to tackle our planned meeting agenda and engage in lots of productive conversations to continue moving ASCE forward. You can read a meeting recap – including our vote in support of Student Members voting in ASCE elections – here at ASCE News

The reality now, though, is that COVID-19 is reshaping our new normal, and I want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to help our members stay safe, informed and productive, while placing ASCE in the strongest possible position to help lead the civil engineering industry into a brighter future. ASCE launched a COVID-19 resource page to collect online tips and tools for our members – everything from advice for running a virtual meeting and updates on infrastructure-related policy coming out of Washington, to links to the latest updates from the Center for Disease Control and even “Dream Big” activities you can share with your kids at home.

As always, if you have questions, concerns or want to provide some suggestions about how ASCE can better serve its members and the profession, please email Jack (mailto:[email protected]).
