CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS AND CO-OPS
As an intern on one of our engineering teams, you will advance your engineering education and contribute to various technically challenging projects. In this role, you may assist with municipal work such as plan reviews, stormwater and sanitary sewer design, and design work with CAD. With our breadth of services, you may also perform surveying, testing, construction inspection, and G.I.S. tasks as necessary to complete project requirements.
Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or structural engineering are invited to apply for engineering intern/co-op positions.

ELA Group, Inc. (ELA) is seeking a full-time Civil Design Engineer (EIT required, at minimum) with 5-10 years of experience to join our team at our Lititz, PA (Lancaster County) office. While not a remote position, this in-person role offers flexibility for work/life balance along with a relaxed and engaging office culture. General Responsibilities:
- Develop plans to include details and specifications suitable for submittal of permit applications (post-construction stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, land development and NPDES).
- Produce designs/calculations, complete plans and permit applications and coordinate with reviewing agencies.
- Assist the project director by providing project management and engineering support throughout the proposal, design, permitting and construction phases for the development of athletic facilities.
- Perform construction administration and field observations during construction projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
- Professional Engineering (PE) License (preferred)
- Experience/working knowledge of basic design principles for grading, calculation of slopes & grades, and site construction materials and methods
- Training and/or work experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Ability to meet project and task deadlines as established by the project director
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of, and experience with, the municipal land development and NPDES permitting process
