Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award

This is an annual award to a Civil Engineering Project, not an individual or firm, to recognize the contribution of the many engineers who have worked on the project. Selection is based on how the project demonstrates the application of civil engineering skills and its contribution to civil engineering progress and mankind. Click the title link above for more information and application form.

A plaque will be awarded to the winning project and presented at the June Dayton ASCE Section Meeting.

ASCE Dayton Section Roger F. Weiss Book Loan Award

This award was established in 1985 in memory of Roger F. Weiss, a former UD civil engineering professor who was an active member of ASCE. Application for this award is open to all UD civil engineering students who are active members in the ASCE Student Chapter..

The book loan will be awarded to deserving students and consists of purchasing the technical books (math, science, engineering) required for the student’s registered schedule from the UD bookstore. Non-technical books (humanities based courses, general education courses) will not qualify for this award. If you the student has a UD Book scholarship, that amount will be applied to their required book purchases before the Weiss award (first to non-technical books, then technical books). The purchased books will be on loan to the student for the duration of the semester.
