President – Omar Siddiqui, E.I.T.

Omar Siddiqui is a Structural Design Professional at Shive-Hattery, serving the Iowa City-Coralville community. Omar graduated with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structures from the Iowa State University in 2019.  With over three years of experience as a structural engineer, Omar specializes in industrial market design and contributes his expertise to a variety of other sectors. His commitment to delivering reliable, innovative solutions is evident in the projects he undertakes and his collaborative approach with colleagues.

Outside of work, Omar enjoys playing racket sports such as Pickle Ball, Ping Pong, and Tennis, embracing a healthy and active lifestyle. A passionate supporter of Manchester City in the English Premier League, Omar brings the same enthusiasm to his interests as he does to his career.  Contact Omar

Vice President – Rachel Nardone, PE

Rachel is a Civil Engineer at MMS Consultants in Iowa City. Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Iowa in 2019. Rachel gained her professional engineering license in 2023. Rachel was an intern at MMS Consultants for six years while completing her education. After graduating from college, Rachel joined Kimley-Horn in McKinney, Texas for three years where she gained experience working on large-scale private development projects for national clients. In 2023, Rachel returned to MMS Consultants, where she specializes in land development projects. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading, crafting, boating, and spending time with her family – especially with her husband Jacob, son Oliver, and dog Daisy. Contact Rachel

Treasurer/Golf Chair – Scott Blondin

Scott is a civil design professional with 2 years of experience at Shive Hattery in Cedar Rapids, specializing in site design and land development for municipal and private industrial/commercial projects. His expertise includes stormwater management and modeling, feasibility analysis, grading design, utility design, and construction observation. Originally from Iowa City, Scott graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2023. Secretary / Social Media Chair – Emily Shie, E.I.T.

Emily is a Civil Design Professional at Shive-Hattery, Inc. She works from the Iowa City, Iowa office in their Transportation group that is within the public infrastructure business unit. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa in 2024. In her role at work, Emily has primarily contributed to roadway design projects and has also gained experience in industrial site development, and construction observation/administration. She values collaboration and continuous learning, striving to help deliver practical, safe, and community-focused solutions. Outside of work, Emily enjoys going for walks, solving puzzles, listening to new music, and crafting. Contact Emily

Past President – Fathi Al-Share, PE

Fathi is a Project Engineer at Shoemaker & Haaland Professional Engineers in Coralville, Iowa. He graduated from University of Illinois Chicago in 2018 with a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering emphasis) and from Iowa State University in 2020 with a MS in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering specialization). Active in ASCE as a student and was a member of the committee organizing the ASCE Great Lakes Student Conference in 2018. He joined the ASCE Eastern Iowa Young Members Group as a board member in 2020. At Shoemaker & Haaland, he has primarily worked on large-scale industrial facilities, designing steel and concrete structures, and designing different types of foundations.
