The CJ Series(Composite Joist System) is an open web steel joist system where the concrete slab acts as the composite top chord of the underlying steel joists. Using shear studs, the connection is made through the metal deck to the joist top chord. Each joist is designed with a sufficient number of steel shear studs to develop the yield strength of the bottom chord. CJ Series joists use Load Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) design method. In this presentation, we'll introduce the CJ series joists to you and discuss the suitable construction applications along with the advantages of using CJ joists.
