The ASCE Pipeline and Environmental officers are pleased to welcome you all to our first in-person meeting in over 1.5 years at the 94th Aero Squadron (NEW LOCATION!). At this meeting, Jason Hubbard, P.E., the Olivenhain MWD Engineering Manager, will present on the Recycled Water Pipeline Extension 153A Project. Please note that costs have been increased to cover rising costs. The general admission is $40 and students is $20. The fee for walk-ins is $50.  CASH or CHECK are accepted at the door. Project Description
Olivenhain MWD, with engineering consultant Woodard & Curran, completed a 1,600 foot pipeline extension in 2019 that included Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) under the San Dieguito River to reduce impacts to nearby habitat and communities. OMWD worked with CDFW on a streambed alteration agreement and worked with US Fish and Wildlife Service to protect federally-listed nesting birds during the construction period. The pipeline connected the Surf Cup Sports youth soccer fields in San Diego to OMWD’s recycled water distribution system. By allowing Surf Cup to convert the irrigation of 55 acres of grass fields to recycled water, OMWD has reduced potable water demands for irrigation by up to 100 million gallons per year. This project was selected as an APWA San Diego/Imperial 2020 Project of the Year in the Sustainable/Green category.
