Annual Toothpick Bridge Competition
Students from area high schools compete to load-test toothpick bridges. This is a long-standing event for the Duluth Section and a wonderful opportunity for outreach to the area youth to introduce the topic of civil engineering. Volunteers are needed on the day of the competition (approximately 10a-1p, with some volunteers needed at 9a). We are in need of folks to help with registration, helping set up the load tests and direct students, tracking and recording of scores, etc.
Contact Chris Morris ([email protected]) for more information or to sign up to volunteer. The event itinerary is detailed below.
