The ASCE Cincinnati Section held its first meeting of 2020 on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. The dinner meeting included a presentation on Engineering Ethics by Mr. John Greenhalge. The meeting was held in the THP office at 100 E. Eighth Street, Suite 300 in Cincinnati, OH 45202.
Mr. John Greenhalge is the Executive Director of the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. The Board currently oversees the licenses of nearly 30,000 individually licenses engineers and surveyors as well as nearly 2,800 companies and firms offering engineering and/or surveying services. Mr. Greenhalge will provide an update on professional licensing activities in Ohio, describe some real world examples, and discuss issues regarding professional engineer and surveyor licensing in 2020.
Ohio’s professional engineers and professional surveyors are required to complete two professional development hours (PDHs) in professional ethics or rules relevant to the practices of engineering or surveying every two years. This January presentation provided one PDH toward that requirement.
