A record breaking group learned about an exciting local project as over 90 people attended the joint ASCE Cincinnati Section / Geotechnical Group meeting held on October 18th. Thanks to all who joined the ASCE Cincinnati Section for a very informative presentation by Mr. Rick Slack and Mr. George Webb on the Emergency Repair Project of Riverside Drive.  The presenters discussed how many engineers and firms across the City reviewed historic observed data and quickly collaborated to implement a design/build project that protected some of the City’s vital infrastructure including a 60-inch water main. During the presentation held at Terracon’s office, the group enjoyed a five-star meal prepared by Cuisine D’ Cheryl Catering.

Also noted during the meeting, the Cincinnati Section has decided to pursue applying to designate Old River Station as an ASCE historic Civil Engineering landmark after the Section had a very successful and intriguing meeting and tour of the GCWW facilities during the month of September.
