Old River Station National Historic Landmark Award Ceremony
The leadership of the Cincinnati Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) proudly announces the designation of ASCE National Civil Engineering Historic Landmark has been awarded to the Old River Station facility.
The Old River Station steam pump plant contains four of the largest triple-expansion, crank-and-flywheel water pumping steam engines in the world. The engines are housed in the GCWW station on the north bank of the Ohio River, on the eastern end of Cincinnati. A bronze plaque will be presented to GCWW by ASCE National President, Robin Kemper, and the Cincinnati Section leadership of ASCE in a ceremony to be held at the Station. The plaque will be displayed at the facility and will extol the Station and modern water filtration processes refined in Cincinnati..
