Education
BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono. Have taken several courses in project management, quality management, and safety administration.
Engineering Career
I worked for an Engineering firm after graduation, but quickly realized that I really enjoyed the construction rather than the design side of things. Except for a stint as Director of Engineering for a hospital, I have been in construction for my entire career. I really enjoy working through complex problems and seeing things come to fruition.
Professional Activities
Member of ASCE, NSPE, past member of the Association of General Contractors Board, past member of Auburn Sewerage District Board, Corporator of the Auburn Public Library.
Received a patent for a foundation monitoring system for large scale wind turbines.
Most Rewarding Career Moment
Completing the Mars Hill Wind Farm in Mars Hill, Maine. This was the first large scale wind project in the Northeast. Completing the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville, Maine. It was truly amazing to see how this facility would benefit local youth.
Awards
Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, 2001
Hobbies
Skiing, biking, kayaking, fishing, woodworking, enjoying my 3 grandsons.
