Stay ahead of the curve and join ASCE for a presentation by the Maine
Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that will break down some
of the anticipated updates to Chapter 500 Stormwater Management
regulations. Kerem Gungor, senior environemntal engneer at Maine DEP and
Cody Obropta, environemntal engineer at Maine DEP have been heavily
involved through the update process and will discuss some of the updates
including, but not limited to,  stormwater design criteria, expanded
applicability thresholds for stormwater treatment, and stricter standards for
nutrient export to protect sensitive waterbodies. These updates emphasize
sustainable practices and increased collaboration with DEP to ensure
compliance and environmental conservation. The meeting will take place at
Mast Landing in Freeport with a social and dinner period prior to the
presentation.
