Portland Foreside Development Tour & Happy Hour

Thursday, November 18, 2021 - 02:30 PM

Portland Foreside's 10 acres of former industrial operations along the City’s urban waterfront will become a mixed-use neighborhood in the best sense of the term. The buildings are designed to meet the historical significance of the area allowing for year-round enjoyment of Portland’s waterfront through much needed housing (apartments and condominiums), office space, hotel lodging, restaurants, local retail, and impeccably designed outdoor spaces to promote communal gathering. The master plan includes a connection to adjacent lands owned by the City slated to be converted into waterfront public open space, and provides access to improved pedestrian trails directly along the waterfront. This project will ultimately connect the adjacent neighborhoods to the water and bring new life and enjoyment to this historically significant site.

Speaker(s)

Dave Senus, PE

Director of Planning and Design, Foreside Development Company

Dave is a professional civil engineer with over 20 years of consulting and land development-focused engineering experience. Dave is recognized as a technical leader in site development, program and project management, green infrastructure design, and regulatory coordination and facilitation. After earning Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Clarkson University and the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst, respectively, Dave entered the consulting engineering world working for Woodard & Curran in the greater Boston area, a consulting engineering, science and operations firm. Following his interest in site development, and his love for the southern Maine region, Dave transferred to Woodard & Curran’s Portland office in the early 2000’s to design and manage large waterfront
infrastructure and site development projects in the Portland area and the greater New England region.  Supporting the Foreside Development Company as a consultant since 2013, Dave welcomed the opportunity to join the firm as the Director of Planning & Design in January 2019.  A key personal connection to the Portland Company site, in 2009 Dave and his wife Karie had their wedding reception within historic Building 6
