The San Diego Section of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers scholarships to eligible students. Applications are accepted beginning in January of each year for the following endowments:

 

CHARLES SMITH MEMORIAL CIVIL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

Through a gift from the estate of Charles Smith, an active member, past president (1957) and pioneer for the San Diego section of ASCE, and the generosity of several local Architectural and Engineering consulting firms, ASCE Members, and ASCE Life Members, ASCESD established this scholarship fund in 1987. ASCE Student Members who take an active role in the Student Chapter and San Diego Section activities, and demonstrate a commitment to the Civil Engineering profession are eligible to receive proceeds from this memorial fund.

CHARLES McMAHON MEMORIAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT/ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

Through a bequest from the estate of Charles McMahon, a person who spent his career dedicated to civil infrastructure in San Diego, and the generosity of several local Architectural and Engineering consulting firms, ASCE Members, and ASCE Life Members, ASCESD established this scholarship fund in 1999. ASCE Student Members who take an active role in the Student Chapter and San Diego Section activities, and demonstrate a commitment to the Construction Management, Construction Engineering and/or Construction Practices profession are eligible to receive proceeds from this memorial fund.
