TOPIC:  SCDOT update on the alternative delivery group - From Procurement to Progress: The Bridge Program Unfolding

What’s going on now, and what the future holds for the CLRB program with recent changes to package sizes and the approval of the Low Impact Bridge Criteria. This presentation will also include a quick overview of all other major projects that are active with the SCDOT Alternative Delivery Group.

Michael Pitts joined SCDOT in 2010 as a summer associate and took a full time position in 2013 after graduating from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. In his 12+ years, he has worked as a staff engineer in the Office of Materials and Research, a Construction Project Manager in a local construction office, and a Program Manager in both the Preconstruction Division and Office of Alternative Delivery. Michael currently manages the OAD Closed and Load Restricted Bridge Program. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina and a Designated Design-Build Professional (DBIA). Michael resides in Lexington with his wife Maddie and their 7 month old son Bennett. He’s an avid runner and enjoys being able to get out when he can with what little free time he now has.
