TOPIC: Regulations and Best Practices
Land surveying plays a critical role in engineering design and construction by establishing property boundaries, documenting existing site conditions, and providing the accurate spatial data necessary for informed decision-making. Surveyors are often among the first professionals involved in a project, collecting essential field data and preparing boundary surveys, topographic maps, plats, and as-built records that support a project from initial planning through completion.
This presentation will provide an overview of the land surveying profession, including the services surveyors provide, best practices for effectively coordinating with surveyors, and key South Carolina regulations governing surveying activities. We will also discuss current challenges facing the profession and opportunities for improvement and innovation.
