ASCE November Meeting – Joint Meeting with Geotechnical Group
The ASCE Cincinnati Section held a joint meeting with the Cincinnati Geotechnical Group on Thursday, November 14, 2019. The meeting included dinner and a presentation on the metallurgical testing for the construction industry. The meeting was at Terracon’s office near Cincinnati’s Lunken Airport.
The presentation included some basic metallurgy, metal alloy identification, physical and chemical testing of metals, and various testing of both new and historic metals as it relates to the construction industry.
The riveting presentation was given by Chris Dumford, Senior Materials Consultant at Terracon. Mr. Dumford has more than 33 years of experience testing of unique items, materials and conditions encountered within the civil and structural construction environment.
