Ken Gerard, P.E. has successfully performed a hundreds of civil engineering projects for more than 40 years. In addition to his engineering skills, he is a person of personal integrity and reliability. He is a leader in ASCE and has served as President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary of the Cincinnati Section. He has left his mark through his many successful projects and by mentoring of many engineers during his career.

Ken graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1975 and served as a platoon leader in the US Army for two years. After leaving Active Duty in 1977, he continued to serve our country as a member of the Army Reserves through 1995. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Engineering Administration from George Washington University in 1984 and is a registered P.E. in 40 states. Ken developed and honed his civil engineering skills on land development projects on the east coast and served and an Assistant County Engineer in Calvert County, Maryland.

In 1991, he moved to Ohio and began a career with Parsons. He went to work on the environmental remediation of the DOE Fernald site just north of Cincinnati. He led the civil engineering design for the remediation of landfills, ponds and other contaminated areas. He also led and supported design of many support projects. Fernald was the one of the first successful cleanups of a DOE site in the United States and Ken’s technical expertise and ability to develop solutions and build consensus contributed to its success.

After Fernald, he worked on many big and small projects across the country and continued his reputation for developing buildable solutions. He became one of Parsons go-to engineers and worked on projects for government clients such as the FAA, GSA, US Postal Service, and the US Corps of Engineers; and many commercial companies.
