February 2018 Meeting-Challenges and Successes of Implementing a Well Field in Sidney, Ohio

Thursday, February 15, 2018 - 12:00 PM

Sidney's 50 year search for a sustainable water source resulted in locating and designing a well field in the backwater area of the Miami Conservancy District’s Lockington flood control dam which demands special consideration for year round use. Flood events have the potential to flood approximately 20' above grade for 100 year events and 40'+ to spillway overflow. The initial phase of the project includes three wells and well house structures, electrification and control and raw water transmission to a repumping station outside the flood zone to pump the groundwater to the existing Water Treatment Plant.
