ASCE October Dinner Meeting - I-95 Section BS4 and H04: Connection Local, Regional, and Interstate Communities (1 PDH)
I-95 Sections BS4 and H04 were awarded by PennDOT in 2016 for $81 million and the project was significantly complete in early 2021. This project enhances traffic flow and access to Interstate 95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange by widening and improving a section of Aramingo Avenue, building several new ramps, and constructing the new street Adams Avenue in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Transforming communities with a new roadway and trail in an urban environment comes with its share of challenges. This presentation will feature the improvements and discuss the complexity and key challenges associated with this Complete Street design in an urban setting.
