Event From Date
Wednesday, November 20, 2019 - 11:00 AM

Every year in Philadelphia residents and visitors are subject to approximately 10,000 traffic crashes. These crashes take the lives of roughly 100 people and result in severe injuries to 250 more. Ms. Yemen will provide an update and overview of the Vision Zero program and how its principles are being applied throughout the City to help achieve the goals of Vision Zero. One of the more significant efforts of the Vision Zero program is that currently underway on The Roosevelt Boulevard, a busy 12-mile surface corridor which serves large volumes of traffic and pedestrians as well as several major transit routes. The Boulevard has an unfortunate history of and reputation for safety and operational deficiencies. Ms. Dixon and Mr. McMahon will update and highlight the status of and ongoing analysis related to the Roosevelt Boulevard Route for Change program which is currently underway and which will address the many issues related to this busy corridor.
