The ASCE Philadelphia Section is looking for striking photographs of bridges, taken in the United States or abroad, that highlight design and engineering achievements of civil engineers. 

Applicants must be individuals over 18 years of age or engineering firms, and they must be the creator or owner of submitted photographs. Applicants may enter up to three photos; each individual photo may be entered in only one category. Cash prizes will be awarded, and all submissions are eligible for inclusion in ASCE’s next Bridges Calendar. 

Judges will recognize two winners from each the following categories:

  • Multimodal Bridges - Any bridge designed for bike and pedestrian use only
  • On the Job - Under construction, during an inspection

Judges will recognize four winners from the following category: 

  • Philadelphia Region Bridges - Any bridge, open category. Limited to Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Additional contest rules:

  • Applicant must be 18 years or older
  • Photos submitted must be the original work of the applicant
  • Applicant must own rights to submit and license the photos to ASCE Philadelphia
  • Applicants may enter up to three (3) photos. Photos may be submitted to multiple categories, but only win one award.
  • Photo submissions must be at least 3000px wide and 2500px tall
  • Photo submissions must have only minimal standard editing (cropping, reasonable exposure & color adjustments, etc)
  • Photo submissions must be jpg or png format
  • Photo submissions must be taken between January 2026 and June 2026
  • Photo submissions are due by July 15th, 2026
  • AI submissions are not permitted
  • Applicant must be an ASCE Philadelphia Member or registered student from the schools within the Section's region
