1 - CPL is seeking a Building Systems Engineering (BSE) Designer II - Structural in their Poughkeepsie, New York office.
As a member of the building systems structural engineering team, the BSE Designer II supports and assists experienced engineers and other multidisciplined team members throughout the planning and design of a variety of projects. In this role, you assist seasoned engineers in designing building systems for projects across our practice areas, elevating their capabilities and creating a more sustainable world in the process. You have an understanding of drawing set documentation, modeling techniques, and general knowledge of drafting standards. The BSE Designer II works under supervision on moderately complex projects and/or larger, moderately complex projects.
SALARY RANGE
- $66,000 - $99,000 Annually
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- AS Degree in related field required, professional degree preferred
- Four to eight (4-8 ) yrs. of experience
- Engineer In Training (EIT), preferred
- An ability to perform moderately difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and other relevant programs and you’re proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools
- Practical knowledge of structural engineering and analytical skills.
- An ability to comprehend and carry out oral or written instructions
- An understanding of construction plans/specifications and their application to public works projects is a major plus
CORE DUTIES
- Set up and develop Revit structural and AutoCAD structural projects based on existing project template
- Complete CAD and Revit drafting, redlines
- Ensure model meets expectations stated in the project standards
- Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers
- Prepare plan sections, detail drawings
- Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning
- Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create reports as required
- Assist in clash detection of coordination models
- Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Provide technical support for existing projects and field service
- Coordinate and prepare record as-built models and drawings

The rate for this position generally ranges between $66K-99K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. 2 - Weston & Sampson is seeking a Principal Municipal Engineer with 15 or more years of experience in their Albany or Rhinebeck, New York office.

Supervise and lead project teams in the conduct of municipal engineering reports, studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.

This position will directly report to the Regional Manager and will work a team of engineers and support staff to meet client deliverables.

Supervise and lead project teams in the field evaluation and assessment of existing facilities, including water, sewer, stormwater, and roadways.

Provide hands-on leadership working side by side with our engineering staff to complete challenging engineering and construction projects.

Assess opportunities and define project scope, schedule, and fee, as well as determine work procedures and staffing, and sub-consultant assignments.

Support the procurement of construction services, including support and evaluation of public bidding, contract execution, and construction administration.

Supervise, train and mentor junior engineering staff.

Pursue new work opportunities through established client relationship, market sector awareness, and competitive pursuits, including participation in proposal development and interviews/presentations.

Participate in professional organization and technical committees.

The candidate will be expected to be flexible in terms of handling multiple assignments, work directly with clients to understand needs and to advance project planning and design assignments, as well as participating in company sponsored training programs, seminars, and conferences as may be necessary.

Collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal multi-disciplinary teams.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar engineering degree.

Possess and maintain a New York State Professional Engineering License, in good standing.

15 or more years of relevant experience working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles, including:

Evaluation, study and design of municipal water, wastewater stormwater, and roadway facilities and infrastructure, with an understanding and experience, especially related to rehabilitation of municipal systems.

Possess in-depth knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including discharge permitting for facilities, and typical funding sources related to the industry.

Experience in managing multiple projects and clients, along with the associated administrative, budgetary, and financial tracking/profitability aspects of projects.

Highly effective with written and verbal communication of project plans and presentations
-
Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, team leadership, and mentoring.

Preferred work experience will include site design; utility planning, modeling, and design; and water and wastewater pumping station and treatment plant design and construction.

Demonstrated leadership experience and successful teamwork.

Exemplary communication skills, including the verbal, written, and public presentation domains.

Working proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Some travel is required, must have a valid driver’s license.
Salary is $150,000 - $175,000
