EWR Presents: Floodplain Restoration Stormwater Management Projects: How Are They Performing? (1 PDH)
Several floodplain restoration projects have been implemented to also serve as the primary stormwater management control facility for large land development projects in Lancaster County, PA. Three of these sites are being monitored to verify that they are performing the intended peak attenuation, volume reduction, and water quality functions, as required by permit authorizations. This presentation will review the floodplain restoration design approach, discuss how stormwater benefits are quantified, and summarize over three years of monitoring data which indicates that they are indeed performing as intended, and in some cases outperforming model predictions.
