Thanks to Our Section Sponsors - 29th Season!

When we first rolled out our sponsorship program at the start of the 1991-92 season, a total of nine “pioneer” firms participated:

  • BCM Engineers Inc.
  • Lippincott Engineering Associates
  • National Timber Piling Council
  • Pennoni Associates, Inc.
  • Pickering Corts & Summerson, Inc.
  • The RBA Group
  • Reutter Engineering
  • Temple University
  • J. Richard Weggel, PhD, PE

Some of these sound familiar, and some are no longer. We have begun our 29th year of the Section Sponsorship program this season. Thus far, 12 companies have committed to participate in this season. We extend our special and collective THANKS to each sponsor for their financial commitment and support.

As a sponsor, your business card will appear in each edition of THE NEWS from October through May. Sponsor logos are displayed in a special Sponsors section of our website. Additionally, we provide direct links to sponsors’ own websites so prospective employees can review all available and up-to-date positions. We also offer sponsors the opportunity to have a “spotlight” article in an edition of THE NEWS.

If you would like to join, renew or come back after a few years away, we look forward to bringing you into the Section Sponsor fold. All this could be yours for a mere $300 for the season.

Please contact Bob Wright at [email protected] for more details.

President's Message - Fall 2025

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Greetings and welcome to the 113th year of the ASCE Philadelphia Section!

It’s an honor to serve as President this term as we prepare for some amazing events in Philadelphia over the next few years—the 250th anniversary of our great nation’s independence in 2026 and hosting the launch of ASCE’s new signature annual technical conference in 2027, just to name two. But I’m getting ahead of myself, because we have some awesome things in store for this year, too.

To start, we will be back at Maggiano’s for our dinner meetings in October, November, and March—come hungry! We’re starting the season with a PDH-worthy ethics presentation, as those are always in demand amid license renewals, and we have some other local project and technical presentations planned that we’re excited to announce soon. We’re excited to participate in the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia’s Multi-Society meeting in December, as well as the events it hosts for Delaware Valley Engineers Week in February. In January, our friends at the ASHE Delaware Valley Section have again invited us to join them for their January dinner meeting at the Crowne Plaza in King of Prussia, which is always a good event. And of course, we’ll wrap up our year with two of our hallmark events: the Multi-Technical meeting in April, where our local institute chapters and technical groups join us to host breakout presentations after a group dinner and some special recognitions; and last but not least, our annual Spring Social, which will be hosted at The Lucy and feature our awards ceremony.

We know, we know… it makes for a busy calendar, but we look forward to seeing you at as many of these events as you’re able to attend. We have some other activities in the works that we’ll share details on throughout the year. In the meantime, stay safe, be well, and bring on the season!

Best,
Jesse Gormley
President, ASCE Philadelphia Section
