2018 PA Infrastructure Report Card Release - Save the Date!

Event From Date
Wednesday, November 14, 2018 - 11:00 AM

The big reveal is coming soon! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00 AM at Schuylkill River Park.

The four Sections of ASCE in Pennsylvania (Central Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh) have developed and released the Report Card every four years since 2006.  Together the four ASCE Sections in Pennsylvania represent nearly 6,000 members of the civil engineering profession. Using a simple A to F school report card format, the 2018 Report Card will provide a comprehensive assessment of current infrastructure conditions and needs, assign grades, and make recommendations for how to raise the grades. The Report Card is written by ASCE members in Pennsylvania who assign the grades according to the following eight criteria: capacity, condition, operations and maintenance, public safety, funding, future need, resilience, and innovation.

The goal of the 2018 Report Card is to raise the public’s awareness of how much investment is needed and to applaud the passage of the funding bill that has helped raise the infrastructure grades as projects have been completed. An additional goal is to give policymakers solid recommendations that the Commonwealth can use to better regulate and fund infrastructure.
