The Philadelphia Section Younger Member Forum is pleased to present the 2020 Critical Issues Seminar, featuring a panel discussion on the City of Philadelphia's Vision Zero Plan, particularly considering the evolving effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the City. Topics for discussion will include the current state of the Vision Zero Plan and the impacts of social distancing requirements on the Plan's action items and implementation. The panel will also highlight the Recovery Streets Plan, a proposal to help the City of Philadelphia rethink its public space both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic using tools like Open Streets, Calm Streets, expanded outdoor dining and vending, expanding the Play Streets Program, and creating 50 miles of new protected bike lanes throughout the City. This Plan was authored by a coalition of advocacy organizations including Feet First Philly, 5th Square, the Clean Air Council, and the Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia.
