Invitation to Employers and Students

  • ASCE/SEI Connecticut Chapter (SEI-CT) is pleased to announce the 3rd Structural Engineering Student Career Forum for 2026.
  • Designed for undergraduate and graduate students interested in structural engineering career. Event features include employer introductions, career path panels, and one-on-one conversations with practicing engineers.
  • Event Details
    • Date: February 12, 2026, Thursday
    • Venue: Community Rooms 101/102, Henry Barnard Hall, Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in New Britain, CT
    • Time: 4:30pm to 7:30pm
    • Light meal (pizza) and refreshments will be provided.
  • Format
    • Session #1: Employer Introductory Presentations
    • Session #2: Panelists Presentations & Discussions on Career Insights
    • Session #3: One-on-One Meetings with Employers

For Employers

  • SEI-CT invites employers involved in the structural engineering profession. Participating employers will have access to:
    • Presenting firm introductions / employer spotlights
    • A panel discussion featuring early- and mid-career structural engineers
    • Networking sessions with students (table booth included).
    • Student resume packets (PDFs shared exclusively with participating employers)
  • Space is limited; early registration is encouraged. Employer registration includes up to three (3) representatives.

For Students

  • Undergraduate and graduate students interested in structural engineering are invited to participate in:
    • Engaging with leading employers in the structural engineering field.
    • Exploring exciting projects and unique working environments.
    • Discussing job openings and career opportunities.
    • Networking with professionals and peers in an interactive setting.
  • Student Registration Requirements:
    • ASCE Student Membership (S.M.ASCE) is required; membership is free for eligible students.
    • Students must upload a PDF resume during registration.

  • Resumes will be shared only with participating employers.  SEI-CT will not provide resume-review services; students are encouraged to use CSCE YMG or campus career centers for well-prepared resume.
  • Student registration is free; however, a no-show fee may be charged if email notice of cancellation is not received by February 9.
  • Transportation Support for Non-CCSU Students:
    • To help reduce transportation barriers, SEI-CT will offer gas gift cards to student carpool drivers who meet both of the following requirements:
      • Travel with three or more event-registered students (including the driver)
      • Drive more than 20 miles one way
    • Send an email to SEI-CT with the departing city, list of registered student passengers and school names (
    • Please note: Gift cards are limited, and availability is not guaranteed for all applicants.

For Faculty Advisors:

  • SEI-CT welcomes faculty advisors who support civil/structural engineering students to attend the Career Forum. Faculty advisors may attend at no cost. To participate, please email SEI-CT at [email protected].
