Topic: Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act – Impacts on Connecticut’s Transportation Systems
Following introductory remarks from U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and Congressman John Larson, CTDOT Deputy Commissioner Mark Rolfe, P.E. will discuss how Connecticut stands to benefit from the $1.2 trillion Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) that was passed into law by Congress in November 2021. The Deputy Commissioner will discuss the potential impacts on the CTDOT’s capital program and State’s transportation systems over the coming years. Governor Lamont has indicated that Connecticut is expected to receive over $5.38 billion in federal infrastructure funding in the next five years – a $1.63 billion increase over the previous federal transportation bill.
